Meet Midnight! image

She is one of the sweetest cats that I ever had.  Pour thing, we picked her up from the local animal shelter, brought her home and discovered that she’s afraid of every noise.  Which is acceptable because this place is new and I know its going to be a while for her to get use to all of the noise in this neck of the woods.image

Midnight is a sweat heart, I mean she’s so sweet, she’s expresses much love.  Midnight has a great personality too. Its pretty amazing, she doesn’t go after the chickens, nope she actually is afraid of them.  One day ten chickens broke into the garden area, and Midnight hid in the garage while the chickens were grazing and digging around my plants. Midnight hid in garage until one of the chickens were curious and found the entrance to the garage.  Yep, chicken poop was discovered on the work bench with tools, nuts, and bolts scatter all over the place. Yikes!!  What a mess! Yeah the chickens found Midnight and of course she ran out of the garage in a heart beat.  First encounter with the chickens…not so good. Then again you can say that the chickens had an advantage, strength in numbers I guess.

Midnight is also great with kids, and gets along with the bunnies.  Yes, you read that right.  I’m not sure what Midnight thinks about the bunnies.  I just know that she does not want to go near them, I’m guessing shes afraid of them too. LOL.image

Midnight has a great responsibility on our homestead, which is to eat all the field mice and other critters like gophers in the garden.  My husband has doubts that she can do the job since shes so jumpy.  However, I think by early summer she will adapt to her new environment.  What do you think?  Today I caught her with a lizard’s tail.  Midnight has the instinct.

Midnight also has a personality of a dog.  I know this sounds strange right, because cats are usually independent and do there own thing.  Not Midnight, she follows you around the yard, meows when she finds a lizard and its hiding under a rock that she cant get too, comes when you call her and hangs out with us while we work outside.  Oh,  did I mention that she likes to be the first one in the garage? Yeah, she acts like it is a race and we let her beat us every time.  I think she may have accidentally been locked out of her last place.  What are your thoughts?  Or is this natural behavior for a cat. Again Midnight is pretty amazing.  I guess you can say that we’ve fallen in love with Midnight here at the homestead.
